The Spontaneous Resolution

Chapter 1: A Beautiful Morning
This village I live in is called Merberry, which is, as the name implies not a popular town, known by little. It happens to just start its bounds in the outskirts of Southampton, and many times is mistaken to be a part of it. Many believe that the only reason people moved in here was due to the lack of space, or the higher rents for houses in Southampton. I personally came here for its moist and independent environment.
It was a beautiful autumn day here. The birds were fluttering their way through the blissfully scented air. The flowers blossomed in Mr. Yerkin’s garden in the heavy dew, like beds of glittering jewels. The road was clean, the grass mowed and everything around me resembled neatness. There was a lot of work going on in this town, and yet everyone here maintained a bright smile across their faces. The whole atmosphere was uplifting. It was my first day as a tour guide, and I wore the best attire for bringing on a good impression on my tourist colleague. My mom made sure I wasn't harboring the constituency of my precious time in just total aweness, as I had a job to conjure for not only myself, but for a family I shall support. As I was intending to, I walked out the room blowing a kiss to my mom, suggesting that today will surely be a day I may endure to remember. I could feel it.
Chapter 2: Oh boy!
I left with such a smile that even a bride of honor might be shy to admit that mine was conveniently more prettier, and I am not boasting around! I was about to meet Robert DeNiro, my tourist colleague, right outside the city's main marketplace. He was a charming man, on his mid 20s, and seemed like a classy person as his outfit was quite exquisite. He was tall, lean, and had blonde hair, as he was a true caucasian. Coming out from the main capital of the United States, he was an explorer, and always had a wish for discovering undiscovered places for his own convenience. This town was to be his first stop out of the many, and I was lucky enough to help him in the exploration of this heavenlike place in Earth. I sure do hope that this town achieves the popularity it deserves...
I was left speechless upon observing this beautiful scenery yet still confused. I pushed the town’s main coffee place’s door just to be welcomed by another kind gesture by the waitresses. Robert DeNiro, a tourist, and I (a guide) gently sat down to have a coffee along with a toast. Robert DeNiro had a weird look on his face as he sipped parts of his coffee. I grabbed my toast to fluctuate his attention and asked, “What’s up with that face you’re making?” He kept his cup down and said, “You had a lot of lovely things to say about this town, but why does it feel like you weren’t completely being honest with what you felt…this is really bugging me”. I replied, “I was already prepared for a question like this to pop out from you, but I’m afraid that I may not have any answers. The town has all the positives to reclaim its shriek to be known, but the town at dawn completely has an opposite feel, the streets are empty, and it’s all too dark… I really think something happens at that time about which I really don’t know”. Just right after I said this, it got all quiet around me. We were getting stares from all directions. Robert DeNiro broke the silence and said, “I thought you were a part of this town, you should know why…”, when I suddenly interrupted, “I have actually just moved in here a month ago, and have no clue why this is so.”
Robert DeNiro didn't seem quite satisfied with me being an aid for his journey, and had nothing more to say. While I was still trying to convince him that I still do know all the perks of this town, but it wouldn't help ofcourse. Why would an explorer want an inexperienced guide anyways! He probably skipped on my resume, but now he is stuck with me... so why not be a good sport and just go with the flow. Like I said, he was a nice man, and soon apologized for any harsh things he might've said. I was a easily forgiving one, and we both soon came into a total sublime agreement.
Chapter 3: The myth?
An old man who was sitting 10 seats across our table came walking towards us, as due to something which I may have said. He began talking about some portal, and we both at first thought of just ignoring his mythical talking. BUT everyone seemed like they were devoted to his myth. Is it true, what he is saying...Is that the reason why this town resembles only quietness all night!? It bothered me. We both were suspicious, and relied on what this old man said to help us out in our miserable confusion.
The Old Man's Story-
Around 120 years ago, a spiritual monk was fed up by how the society behaved towards their environment, and therefore put a curse on all humanity, that the nature will avenge itself.
That time had now approached and it all was bound to begin in this little town. I had the courage to ask, “What is it that happens at night? I don’t see any change physically yet…”, as the old man immediately replies with, “The nature has its own surprising ways to meddle with the beings, and this time a portal to a parallel world has beings like us who cross the boundaries and detonate or exhale the gases which severely vanishes away 25 years of life expectancy from the individuals of Earth. The funny thing is that the same backward reaction occurs for the doppelganger aliens from the other parallel world. This portal opens at dawn and shuts right before the sunrise. We have been avoiding them by staying indoors, but the portal keeps getting bigger and soon we’ll be facing it upfront. I wouldn't encourage you to be hanging out outdoors at such time. You may think of this as a myth, but there have been unexpected deaths of the youth, and healthier civilians, and all I must say is, this may even be the only reason behind such tragedy.
Chapter 4: It's confirmed!
The year is 2015, the date is 16th May, and I mark this day as the beginning of a destruction  of our kind. What will we do to avoid such fate is all in the hands of luck!
This is it. The nature is prompting mankind to fight against the likes of similar beings for the sake of survival. I for one knew that such a thing was bound to happen, but isn’t this a bit too soon? The weird thing was that the people of this town were too secretive of this, and didn’t bother about letting the higher authorities to know of it. We already know how they could react, and no, we are not ready for a nuclear war yet.
This is how the past month passed: 20 deaths all due to natural causes and 15 hospitalized teenagers. We all know what might’ve caused it.
My tourist colleague, Mr. Robert DeNiro was all pumped up to make a difference, as we went to a small research center after the tedious morning coffee session with an old man reciting a folk, which probably might be true. Here at the research center I came across an employee named Idia, who had her PhDs in Physical and chemical sciences. Her evaluation of the situation in a complicated way had the same overall basis as that said by the old man. She suggested of having to wear masks, but this way the backward alien civilization would still be affected by the gases we exhaled. We waited for dawn to approach and the portal to reappear. A message about the earth and the people was compiled in a disc and was ready to play as soon as the portal opened, so that the people in the parallel world would know about our traditions and civilization. We somehow hoped for a happy resolution, but it was merely impossible for it to go on that way.
Chapter 5: Full Stop.
Mr. Robert DeNiro seemed to me as a good man and his passing away the next day after the tale told itself was a shock for me. Idia prompted her ideas forward, but were always rejected by the higher authorities. The gas mask wasn't able to seperate the gases, as humans weren't that advanced yet for distilling this particular harmful gas away. We couldn't calibrate the right amount of oxygen for all of the populace. We were all helpless.
Days passed, population seized, portal grew, and still no proper solution was thought of yet. The whole Northern Europe was covered by the portal, and the death toll was too high to be tolerated by the big heads. This is it, we have no solution, and both way the mankind, and all other beings have to surrender to fate. We tried to fight it out by using our authority over mammals to rip of the lives of the alien beings. This is how stone hearted we have become. The spiritual being was right, and now everyone was left to suffer. I had this urge to spend my last days in this beautiful town with my mom, as we all want to leave with the spark of harmony generated by the scenery...is it ever possible to not erradicate this place off, I prefer a natural end.
What I feared the most, the use of nuclear weapon, would bring an end to our resistance on this planet was actually about to happen. Two planets were meant to be destroyed and it all went down to occur too quickly. A series of memories rushed through the huge cinematic screens around the globe as the button was pressed. All of the existence of monuments around us went rushing down the drain, along with our traditions and believes. This was likely the end of all life. The nature had avenged and sacrificed itself to bring harmony to now a universe with a possibility of no life. It all just happened too quickly.
